Some of you might have read my random Facebook post last night. If not, you can click on the link to see what I'm talking about.
I had several of my readers contact me, asking what book I was posting about. So, I thought I would write this blog post so that everyone can see.
Deception is the first book in a new series I am working on. From the post I made, you can see that it's not like my other books. At all. Yes, it's still romance, but the New Adult theme I usually stick to is nowhere to be seen.
I love New Adult, and I always will, but I've wanted to branch out to other genres for a while. Deception is my first attempt to do that. The subject matter is more adult and the plot as a whole is much darker.
I've kept fairy quiet about this project. Why, I'm not sure. Probably because I'm still writing it and as always, it's going places I didn't expect. When I started writing it, I planned to make it one really long book. I can see now that isn't going to be possible. There's just too much going on.
I plan to release book one, Deception, later this year. The main character's name is Claire. Right now, those are the only two things I can tell you. I'm not purposely being secretive, I swear. I'm just taking my time with this book as I try to see where this series as a whole will go.

What is First Candle?
First Candle is a leading national nonprofit organization dedicated to safe pregnancies and the survival of babies through the first years of life. Current priorities are to eliminate Stillbirth, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and other Sudden Unexpected Infant Deaths (SUID) with programs of research, education and advocacy. We also provide compassionate grief support to all those affected by the death of a baby through a dedicated crisis hotline at 800.221.7437.
As most of you know, I'm a mom. I have a three year old that is the light of my life. This charity is very close to my heart because it is dedicated to safe pregnancies and survival of babies through the first year of life.
I have friends that have lost children, both during, and after pregnancy. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain they feel.
Together, we can make a difference!
