What comes next with the Torn Series.

I've had several readers ask me what will come next with the Torn Series now that Drake and Chloe's story is complete. (Torn, Twisted, Tainted)

The Torn Series will go on.

Right now, I'm working on Logan's novel - Toxic: Logan's Story. It is finished and in editing at the moment. It will be released on May 19th, 2014. The cover and description will be released on April 19th. For those of you who are diehard Chloe and Drake fans, don't worry. You'll still see them in Logan's book, as well as in future books.

Each character in the three original Torn Series books will have a story of their own. (This includes Logan, Amber, Adam, Eric, Jade, Danny, and Jordan.) There will be a total of 8 books in the Torn series, counting Torn, Twisted, and Tainted.

I have plans for several novels over the next few years, so please bear with me. Each character will get the chance to tell their story, but the releases for Torn Series books will be spread out a bit since I'm working on other books as well.

Also, you can join my mailing list (link is at the top of this page!) for the latest news on all of my books.

Breaking Alexandria TEASERS!

We only have THREE weeks until the release of Breaking Alexandria! APRIL 1ST 2014!

Who's getting excited? I know I am! I'm currently doing final edits on it and let me just say, this was one the hardest books I've ever had to write. I really hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Anyway, I wanted to share a few teasers with you. I've posted them all over Facebook lately, but I thought I'd share them here all on one post. These are the LAST teasers you will get before the release!

Enjoy!

Teaser #1:

If there were a medal for sneaking out of the house without getting caught the most times, I’d be the recipient for sure. I smiled to myself as I slowly slid open my bedroom window. I glanced down to the yard below. It was illuminated by the streetlight across the road from our house. I squinted as I looked around, checking for movement of any kind.

-Alexandria

Teaser #2

"You’re mine, and I intend to keep it that way for as long as you want me. I keep waiting for the day when you’ll wake up and realize that you’re so much better than me.”

I shoved him down on the bed and climbed on top of him. “Shut up. I’m not better than you. You’re fucking perfect, Joel. Perfect.”

-Joel & Lexi

Teaser #3

I’d prefer to be stomped to death by a cow rather than spend the day stuck with my grandpa, but I didn’t think I should tell him that.

-Lexi

Teaser #4

While I had admitted earlier that Landon was cute, nothing had prepared me to see him shirtless and wet in the pool. It was obvious that he’d dived under right before I came out. His hair was dripping wet, and water glistened as it ran down his chest and stomach. I knew I was standing there with my mouth hanging open, but at that moment, I didn’t possess the ability to close it.

Teaser #5

“Whatever. Even when you’re tired, you never shut up.”
I stuck my tongue out at him. “Are you trying to tell me that I talk too much?”
“Nah. If you talked too much, I’d just put duct tape over your mouth.”
“At least you’re honest,” I grumbled.

- Landon and Lexi

Teaser #6

“Relax, okay? I’m not going to try to do dirty things to you in the back of a movie theater.” He paused for a second. “Unless you want me to.”
“Shut up and watch the movie.”

-Landon and Lexi

Description:
Alexandria’s drug-dealing boyfriend, Joel, isn’t exactly the white knight she’s always dreamed of, but she can’t deny the crazy connection they have. She would do anything for him, including helping him sell drugs in order to fit perfectly into his world.

After catching Alexandria dealing for Joel, instead of turning her into the cops, Alexandria’s mother forces her to move to her grandparents’ farm in West Virginia. Spending the summer in the country, away from Joel, is the last thing Alexandria wants to do. But lucky for her, the sexy farmhand, Landon, who helps out around her grandparents’ place, is a very nice distraction. She tries her best to ignore her attraction to him, especially since she still loves Joel.

When Joel does the unforgivable, Alexandria turns to her new friend, Landon, for comfort, and it ignites an undeniable spark of attraction between them. Soon, she finds herself caught between two very different men, and the struggles within her heart just might end up breaking Alexandria.

Bullies, Bullies, Bullies! They're everywhere.

I've debated on whether or not to speak up about everything I've seen lately. For those of you who have met me at signings or have talked with me online, you know that I tend to keep to myself. I've always been that way. While I'm goofy and most definitely sarcastic, I'm also very shy.

But sometimes... Sometimes we need to speak up for ourselves and our fellow authors/bloggers/readers.

So, I'm going to say what I need to say and let it go. I truly do not intend to upset anyone, but I can't stay quiet.

When I entered this writing community just over a year ago, I had no idea what I was walking into. I know that makes me naïve, but it is what it is. I made A LOT of author/blogger/readers friends very quickly once Torn and Twisted were released. I didn't know at the time, but everything happening wasn't evident  to me quite yet. I was barely on the surface of this world and all I saw were the people who were being kind to me.

Since then, I've seen things that I wish I hadn't. I really really wish I hadn't. I've seen authors ripped apart in reviews just because a reader didn't like a story or because they didn't like the author on a personal level. I've seen authors speaking about other authors behind their backs. I've seen bloggers hating bloggers. I've seen authors hating bloggers. I've seen bloggers hating authors. I've seen some people go completely diva. I considered buying them a diva crown if you want the truth.

What it boils down to is this:

Hate. Bullying. Cruelty.

And then I ask myself, why? WHY are we doing this to each other? Every single one of us are on the same team. We love books, whether it's when we're writing them, reading them, or reviewing them. It's as simple as that.

We. love. books.

So why can't we focus on that and leave each other alone? Why can't we be happy for each other? I just don't get it. I really don't. When I see one of my best friends hit Top 100 on Amazon, or New York Times, or USA Today best sellers list, I congratulate them. When I see authors that I barely know hitting the same milestones, I congratulate them. I don't do it because I'm trying to be best buddies so they'll promote me, I do it because I really am happy for them. Same goes for blogs. I follow a TON of blogs on my personal Facebook page (I'm there, you just don't know it. I'm sneaky like that!) When I see them reach a certain milestone, whether it's 1,000 likes, 10,000 likes, or 8 bazillion likes, I like their status and congratulate them.

We all work SO hard. All of us. I see my reader and blogger friends sharing teasers and links. I SEE how much you care about books. You LOVED a certain book and you want the world to know.

So why can't we be like that with each other?

Personalities will clash. It happens. There isn't a single person on this planet that is liked by everyone. But there is a BIG difference between not liking someone and attacking them.

More importantly, what are we teaching our kids? I have a three-year-old son who came home from daycare one day telling me that one of the other kids was mean to him and told him to stay away because s/he wasn't his friend anymore. Do you think that OTHER three-year-old learned those words on his/her own? Definitely not. S/He overheard those words and used them against my son and other kids in his/her class.

How can we expect things to change if we're teaching the next generation to be cruel? How can we expect them to be better than us if we don't show them how?

What I'm trying to say with this extremely long and boring post is this:

Respect each other. Don't lash out because you're angry or jealous. Be the bigger person. Be a GOOD person. Think before you speak.

We're a family and I think it's time we started acting like one.

Breaking Alexandria - Landon Teaser

Only 28 days left until Breaking Alexandria's release!

***TEASER***

This is your FIRST look at Landon!

Will you be
#TeamJoel or #TeamLandon?

************************************

“So you’re still with the guy?” Landon asked.
I glanced up to see him watching me. “Yeah, I am.”
He nodded as he turned back to his stall. “I see.”
“I thought you weren’t going to judge me.”
“I’m not. I was just curious if you were still with him.”
I almost laughed as I realized what he was doing. “Is that your subtle way of asking if I have a boyfriend?”
Landon didn’t look up as he spoke. “Nah, I was just being nosey.”
I studied him as he continued to clean another stall. He really was attractive, but definitely not my type even if I wasn’t with Joel.
“I’m going to give you a friendly piece of advice.”
“And what’s that?”
“Don’t get attached to me, Landon. I’m fucked up, but I’m okay with that. I embrace it. I fight, I drink, and I smoke weed. I like heavy metal music and piercings. I’m the total opposite of you.”
He finally stopped shoveling and turned to face me. “You’re not the total opposite of me.”
“How so?”
He grinned. “I drink too.”
I rolled my eyes as he turned away. “My bad. We’re soul mates.”
“Nah, but don’t worry, I wasn’t hitting on you. Your virtue is safe with me.”
I snorted. “I lost that long ago.”
