I'm writing this at... 2 A.M. so please excuse me if I ramble. And possibly drool.
I want to talk about Twisted Ties for a few minutes. I literally just finished editing this book. It's done. D.O.N.E. Finished. The End. I don't have to read it another 4 times. (Yes, I really read my books that many times before I publish them. I'm thorough. Don't judge.)
Okay, so here's the synopsis for Twisted Ties in case you missed it:
Two years ago, Emma Preston walked away from Jesse Daniels. It is a decision she has regretted ever since. Plagued with the knowledge that Ally’s lies tore them apart, Emma enlists Jesse’s former best friend, Andy, to help her search for him.
When he left California, Jesse was determined to start over in West Virginia with his mother. Now, the past is determined to catch up with him—first, with the appearance of Ally, and when Emma and Andy come back into his life.
Just when Emma thinks she’s found Jesse, a dark secret and misunderstandings force them apart before they can even reconnect. Jesse is torn between his love for Emma and protecting his childhood friend, Ally. Ally has an agenda of her own, and she’s not about to let Emma get in her way—even if that means getting rid of her…permanently.
Can Emma and Jesse’s relationship survive all of their twisted ties?

Now that we're all on the same page, I'll get to the point. :P I want to stress something about this synopsis:
***18+ only for adult content including, but not limited to, sexual scenes, cursing, and extreme violence.***
Extreme violence. I'm not exaggerating when I put that in there. Twisted Ties is nothing like any of my other books. Even Twisted looks like a pretty princess castle of a story next to this book. Remember Kadi from The Torn Series? After writing this book, I want to buy her dinner and a ring.
I debated on scraping the last half of this book about a million times. Maybe more than that. I had two betas, an editor, and my besties, Tijan and K. Pinson, read the parts of it that I was worried about. Even after they were all happy with it, I still worried. I'm still worried.
But I'm going to publish it (March 1st! Don't get too excited yet!), because this was how it was meant to be written. I know that in my heart. So I'm going to let Emma & Jesse tell their story while I sit over here and over consume Diet Pepsi.
The whole point of this post? I wanted to warn you. This isn't hearts and rainbows and unicorns. It's dark and it's cruel. I didn't hold back when I wrote this book. At all. So, please, please, please, remember this warning before you read it. The light fluffiness of Shattered Ties is gone.
